Matthew Henson Day
Every April 6th the museum hosts a musical and artistic performance by local school groups in celebration of the discovery of the North Pole by Admiral Peary and Matthew Henson in 1906. Come see our boat shop and meet the boat builders as well as representatives from other local boating, fishing and other maritime organizations.

We are soliciting donations for the restoration and operation of our buildings. We have been offered a major grant of $750,000 for the rehabilitation of our historic buildings. This is a dollar for dollar matching grant so we need to raise another $750,000.
